Make Your Voice Heard!
Wednesday, July 20th at the Office of Bob Gibbs, Zanesville
This was the time to reinforce "We the People's" mandate to balance the budget. John Boehner and Bob Gibbs heard clearly that it is a NO to raising the debt ceiling.
Future promises of congressional cuts in spending, trade-offs for raising the debt ceiling as in the Cut, Cap & Balance proposal and, the lack of transparency in the current back room negotiations are unacceptable.
The United States, for the preservation of our country and to ensure future generations enjoy the same freedoms and liberty we treasure today, must make bold fundamental changes that start with NOT allowing the debt ceiling to be raised.
We are fully aware of the consequences of the debt ceiling NOT being raised, as we are also fully aware of measures that can be taken that will keep us from defaulting, will maintain vital services, and will maintain payment to our military.
"Hands Off Our Energy" Townhall
With energy being vital to our daily lives, the Marietta OH 9-12 Project was proud to host, along with Americans for Prosperity-Ohio, an informative and action-oriented townhall meeting "Hands Off Our Energy" Monday, July 11. Several State Reprsentatives were in attendance.
The purpose of this meeting was to provide information to the public on how the potential rise in the cost of energy is going to affect every aspect of our personal lives and jobs today and in the future. The panel consisted of Robert Murray of Murray Energy Corporation, Jerry James of Artex Oil Company and Sam Randazzo of McNees, Wallace and Nurick, LLC. They represent the Coal Industry, the Gas and Oil Sector, and advocate for the citizens. They addressed attendees from their respective areas of expertise so that the public will be informed about energy resources, costs, and availability-- both immediate and future. The panel was moderated by former State Representative and AFP-Ohio Policy Director Seth Morgan.
